2010 Japan Trip DAY 1

Sunday 2010.04.25 9:08AM PST Monday 2010.04.26 2:55PM JST

Address: LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) - NRT (Narita International Airport) - Chiba - Tokyo.

As many of you know I've been wanting to visit Japan for quite some time now. Finally! The day is here. I booked the ticket for this trip on September 2009. Yes, way ahead. That way I don't accidentally spend the extra money I have saved up. I'll be in Japan for 2 weeks. I think that's too short, but it's the most time I can get off work. I think the ideal vacation should be at least 2 - 3 months right? LOL!

Shocked that the international terminal at LAX was not busy at all...

My breakfast... I know it says Chinese Food, but I ordered on the other side of Hamada and they serve Japanese Food there.

Bam! Chicken Katsu Bowl for $9.50! Darn those airport terminal prices!

Finally aboard Korean Air! This is actually my first international flight for over 10 years. Seems to me technology has improved. I never knew you get your own individual
screen on your seat. It's touch screen too!

If you don't like to touch the screen you can use this handy remote control.

See everyone get's their own. Hmm... Korean Air is so roomy. I'm so use to these international flights, I never knew the planes have more room.

I got no use for this, but if I had a suit on, I bet I would've used it.

Never did figure this one out... Anyone know anything about this USB port?

Window seat! FTW (For The Win).

Ah! Now I get to use the iPhone's "Airplane Mode".

Honey Roasted Peanuts... with Orange Juice... Plus a nice letter from Korean Air, "Caring more about you". That's nice...

The remote is pretty cool. It detaches and transforms into a...

MINI XBOX LOOK-ALIKE CONTROLLER!

Time to see what Korean Air has to offer.

Decided to watch this movie, but didn't finish it because it got boring after an hour...

Atom Boy! Yay! Watched this one.

I really wanted to watch this... However, I didn't want to cry. I know the Japanese version, but I think this version with Richard Gere seems to be more intense. Look
Richard Gere is already choking Hachiko! Why Richard Gere!? Hachiko loves you!

Woah, military tech in the house!

Ok, so everyone tell me Korean Air serves Bibimbap... I guess they do! Wow, I need to fly Korean Air more often!

Next time I'm asking for an extra one.

Hmmm... My Kanji is horrible, I think I should ask for an english version. This is a customs form for those of you that are wondering.

It's night time already! Not really, the plane just turned off all the lights to make it seem like night time. If I were to open the window, it would be really sunny.

I'm so tempted... Taylor... R. Hmm.. The guy the turns into a dog in the movie is hot looking, must resist! LOL!

So I did, I watched my favorite movie of all time. "Forest Gump" with Korean Subtitles.

Yes, I would like some water please. Thank you.

Breakfast time already? Do planes time travel? Wait, I think this is Lunch. My flight skips breakfast because I land in Japan at 3:00pm JST.

I got...

Teriyaki Chicken!

*sniff, sniff, sniff* Fresh air of Japan Land!

I'm in Japan! Wooo! Made it! Finally! The flight was not bad at all. Japan is actually very close, same time frame if you were to drive to San Francisco from Los Angeles.

Only in Japan baby!

Wow, the tea I drink all the time here is so cheap. My brother tells me after my happy moment that it's 68円 at supermarkets. So happy!

Wow , not a lot of people around the airport. It's not like LAX at all.

OH! A CUBE! A CUBE! A CUBE!

No way... I always wanted one of these ever since I saw the "March Cup", it's a circuit race event with these cars! So cute! Looks like a baby GTi-R.

Daihatsu! Something... So many cool micro cars! I'm tired of the big gigantic no room inside cars in California!

Woah. This is a cool setup.

Leaving the airport ^_^.

This unit lets you go through the toll gates without stopping, just need to slow down. Take a look at the video below.

Inside the Nissan March.

Heading towards my brother's shop before we go to Tokyo Tower. I need to drop off all my gear.

A train! Can't wait to ride those to go around town.

Finally at Bitte. Bitte is a Euro Car Shop.

A forest green right hand drive M3.

Inside Bitte.

Lots of Euro parts for cars.

Ok, I know Bitte, deals with Euro cars... I was surprised when I saw this guy there.

Don't have this one in California.

Nor this one too.I guess this one is called the Toyota Will.

A delivery mini van.

Wow... a 10 seater van. Pretty intense name... Toyota Alphard!

Tokyo Tower ^_^ v...

It's not May 5 yet... I guess it starts early or are these always here?

Dinner before we go up.

Hamburger Curry with... Udon. I think it's Udon... LOL!

ãŠã„ã—ãã†ï¼

The way to go up the tower.

Sky Tree! It's not finished yet. It will be twice as high as Tokyo Tower.

Looks like a highschool.

Looks like afterschool activities. Soccer.

Waited until night time to take pretty pictures.

You can see Rainbow Bridge and the Gigantic Ferris Wheel.

Do you see Sky Tree all the way in the back?

It's getting late. Time to go back down.

Didn't what it was, but it looks cute.

On the way out of Tokyo Tower... Souvenirs!

Tokyo in the early 1900's.

It's around 8pm... I guess there's a field trip going on. There were still lots of students around and about.

This store was soooo pink!

Yummy!

This is the smaller version... 120円!? ãŸã‹ã„ï¼

Oden. Very good for the cold windy weather.

It's getting late... Yet you still see student hanging around.

Taxis.

Waiting for customers.

Cool car. Haven't seen this one before.

The parking lot looks like an auto show! LOL!

So my first day in Japan was pretty crazy. Didn't have time to take a nap or settle in. Got to Japan, dropped off my gear at my brother's place and jammed straight to Tokyo Tower. Was I jet lagged? Not one bit. Was I tired... YES! We drove home and as soon as we got home I slept.
